Video root

Original video footage is in MiniDV -format and is recorded either with Canon XL-1s or with Sony VX2000. In Canon ordinary 35 mm -format lenses can be used to increase focal length, but unfortunately sensitivity of its CCD is not enough for late summer noctilucent clouds not to speak of auroras. On the other hand VX2000 though missing interchangeable lenses has a wonderfully sensitive CCD. More details are given in subpages.

Many Quick Time -format (MPG) files would be too large to post and thus in most samples Real One Player -format (RM) is used.
