Miscellaneous night sky related

TEXT HERE DOES NOT MATCH WITH PICTURES. NEW TEXT IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION. (This old version is temporarily preserved for own use to help in writing new captions.)
HERE ARE (VERY) OLD SLIDE SCANS. SLIDES WILL BE RE-SCANNED, IMAGES ENLARGED AND NEW SLIDES SCANNED IN FUTURE.

Starry sky with some special effects: cross screen filter, fog filter, reflected images (drive keeps stars pinpoint, while their rise causes reflected images to become trails), 90 seconds' exposure handheld. Image ex00114 shows how ordinary 400ASA film produces different spectral classes O,B,A,F,G and K. Stars have been defocussed so that exposures could be kept in each case in 1 minute. Not too saturated are the colours. Twinkling of Sirius becomes visible when camera is moved during exposure (ex00642 and ex00613, solid line is from Jupiter). Image ex00354 shows Venus at the very horizon (photographed with a big telescope); atmospheric refraction causes this dispersion of colours (green flash, see Sun). After this there are images showing Venus setting; stratified atmosphere causes bumpy trails; note on the two last trail pictures (both composites of two images) how inferior mirage affects on islands and on the trail itself.
There is a number of nuisances in my photography. First notice image to01543 (right of Sirius' twinkling), where one second exposure has recorded mosquitos' flying; this is a problem especially when photographing noctilucent clouds in July nights. Right of this is another common nuisance: lenses become fogged or frozen, and thus one always has to carry car batteries to keep lenses warm during long exposures.
On the bottom row there are images of my photography. For true astrophotography I have a couple of pillars each accepting one slow motion for total of four cameras. The very last picture is showing cameras ready to record star trails behind trees.
