Setting or rising moon shows distortions like sun, but these are not very widely known. There are several good reasons to this: Horizon has to be exceptionally clear so that dim moon can be observed down to 0 degrees. Moon set or rise is visible only in dark sky and so most possible sightings take place during sleeping hours. In the night it is hard to be sure how distant the horizon is and so possible sightings are ruined by non-0-degree's horizon, which is required for a good distorions. And finally as clear as the weather is, moon is still very faint in horizon and a pair of binoculars should be used to see all interesting.
I have included here all my major distortions. Note especially two moontables #2 and #4: pretty serious deformations! The square compilation of rising moon "moonvi1" is copied from video (250kB). It shows clearly how moon rises through a miraging layer; note especially on row two of the table, how craters are doubled.
