Spring 2002 did not show any big displays; partly because there were no huge ones and mostly because all potentially interesting displays took place during our daytime hours. Only one spring display is worth presenting here: images au20914-Au1904 on April 19/20.
Autumn 2002 turned out to be a good period for auroras. Already in light late summer sky Aug 9/10 during Perseid watch a lonely arch did show up (re21534), followed by a short lived but nice display Sep 3/4 (re21631-re21732). Sep continued with increased activity in 7/8, but unfortunately I had a most severe fog much of the night and could not get too good a history of that night (re21832 and re 21953). Then, finally after having got the first truly dark skies, in Sep 10/11 a good display was witnessed (re22124-re23332) followed by another less spectacular on in Sep 11/12 (images re23433...). For Oct 2002 see two next pages.
